Trackback illustrated by footprintsI just had to share this trackback find with you. It’s an article by Jack Humphrey called Using trackbacks to get more links and traffic.

Whether you’re starting out as a newbie blogger or have been established for a while, you’ve gotta know that traffic is important. If you’re new and you didn’t know it, you’re gonna find out soon enough that getting traffic to your site is a must for you to survive in this internet jungle.

Traffic is a must if you want other people finding all that incredible information you’re spending time producing. Most importantly, those using a blog to get business or make money won’t be able to get things off the ground with only a trickle of people visiting their site.

A trackback is a great way to get a link and have people find you. If you build a blog they won’t come unless you invite them and a trackback can help you get links as well as traffic from other bloggers.

People use tons of methods to drive traffic to their blogs. Sometimes, you have to get creative to build up your traffic, but creativity doesn’t mean unethical or spammy. Creative means that you’ve got to use the tools at your disposal in a clever way. Jack Humphrey shows us how we can do this with the trackback.

As far as I understand the trackback is not a secret method, as a matter of fact, it’s something built into the WordPress’ blogging platform. If this is the platform you use, all you have to do is “switch it on” to allow others to give you a trackback.

Humphrey’s article not only tells you about this great traffic getting idea, he shows you exactly how you can create a trackback to someone else’s blog in a concise clear video tutorial embedded in his article.

Whenever you get a chance go check out his trackback article and add this blog traffic tool to your arsenal.
